What hydroxyapatite is

The mineral, not a miracle

Hydroxyapatite is the calcium-phosphate mineral that makes up most of tooth enamel. Some toothpastes add it as a powder — either as nano-hydroxyapatite (nHA) or as larger micro particles — and describe a temporary look of smoother enamel after brushing. That is a cosmetic appearance, not proof of medical repair.

NHS advice has not moved

Public-health guidance still centres on twice-daily brushing with a fluoride toothpaste of 1,350–1,500 ppm. Hydroxyapatite is a product category people now ask about; it is not a replacement for that advice, and it is not “banned in Europe”.
